Life cycle of an axalotyl

We are learning about life cycles this term. We have some axalotyl eggs that we are going to watch grow. 

Basketball

This term we are learning the skills to play basketball.

We had lots of fun learning how to dribble, pass and defend.

Reduce Reuse Recycle

Today we looked at our rubbish that we have accumulated over the last 2 days. We had a lot of non recyclable rubbish that goes to the dump. 

Who can remember how long plastics takes to breakdown to dust? Put you answer in comments below. 

LMV Athletics Day 2014

On Wednesday it was LMV Athletics day.Glenham, Tuturau, Edendale and Wyndham were competing.


My first event was long jump, my best jump was 2 meters 45cm.  Then we went to 200m, in the heats I came 3 and in the final I came 4th.  Then we were going to discus and I was atually surprised that I got it in the fan!!!  After that we had high jump, I got up to 1 meter and some others got up to 1 meter 10cm.  Then I did 100 meters and in the heats I came 3rd and in the finals I came 5th.  Then it was the relays 'oh no' I was so nervous, Holly was the first runner, then me, then Chloe then Grace.  After lunch we did shot put and I came about 6th or 5th.

After all my events I was puffed and I couldn't wait to go home to my cozy warm bed.

Monarch Butterfly

A monarch butterfly has two pairs of wings, each pair has two wings. On the butterfly's head it has two antenea. Under the dark colours they are lighter.  The caterpillar is 55mm long.  A monarch butterfly has a middle bit, they have 3 segments. On the monarch butterfly it has white dots and orange in the back round but it does have black lines and it has 1 black dot on each side. Before the caterpillar turns into a butterfly it has to turn into a chrysalis.
